As reported by KMOX, this pivotal first-step decision towards a better airport was made during the latest meeting of the Board of Estimate and Apportionment. City leadership outlined 11 guiding principles that must be followed during this process. Those guidelines include clear language stipulating that the City is in no way selling St. Louis Lambert International Airport, that there is protection of collective bargaining agreements, that a plan will be developed to offer continued employment to existing employees not covered by collective bargaining agreements and several additional principles. Ultimately, an approved partnership would create a better flying experience, improve Airport operations and eliminate bonded indebtedness. Regardless of the outcome of this exploration, the Saint Louis region stands to benefit from the philanthropic endeavors made possible from this process. Our flight schedules will be reviewed. Our flight operations will be audited. Our revenue models can be refreshed.
